Assembly House Art Show 2013
ART ALIVE!
Monday 8th April to Wednesday 8th May, 2013
The first Assembly House Art Show – Flying Colours: Fascinating Forms – in 2011 was a great success, attracting around 6,000 visitors. Now a second exhibition of Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire 2D and 3D art, curated by Yvonne and John Millwood, is being planned and this major show – Art Alive! – will be presented at The Assembly House in spring 2013.
Artists aged 16 and over are invited to put forward their ideas for artworks for Art Alive! in the following categories – painting and drawing, collage, original prints, ceramics, photography (especially black and white), textile hangings, sculpture, and installations incorporating any art forms, and entries can be submitted for both an indoor and outdoor work.
The emphasis will be on contemporary art, but high quality work in other genres will also be considered. The Assembly House Trust will be providing a number of prizes, awarded by an independent panel of experts, and these will include a £1,000 top prize for the Critics’ Choice.
Please note that all work must be for sale and that a commission of 35% including VAT will be charged. All artwork should be original and should not have been displayed prior to this particular exhibition.
Selection will be made from the ideas submitted by 30th June 2012 latest and artists will be told by the end of July if their entries have been accepted.
