Assembly House Art Show 2013
ART ALIVE! IS A GREAT SUCCESS
A big thank you to all of you who came along to see this year’s Assembly House Art Show: ART ALIVE! which ran from Monday 8th April to Wednesday 8th May.
This contemporary art show, showcasing new work by artists in Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire, was a real draw, with hundreds of people coming through the doors to see the mix of paintings, drawings and photographs, hangings, pottery, installations, video and sculpture on display.
Over 120 East Anglian artists were chosen to show their work and the art exhibition brought a fascinating collection of modern art to the House. Visitors could hardly miss Rachael Long’s wonderful ‘Rhino’ on the lawn outside the building, nor Nick Ball’s incredible ‘Slidescraper’ in The Noverre Ballroom, and Chedgey was at his best with the wonderful ‘Birdman’ sculpture just outside the main entrance.
Sadly, though, all good things have to come to an end and this year’s Art Show is now over. In case you couldn’t get here, we’ve included a selection of photographs below, so that you can see what you missed, and please keep an eye out for details of the next Art Show (in 2015) as we’ll be looking for entries soon! More information will be posted on this website soon, along with the ‘Call to Artists’ as soon as it’s available.
Thanks again for supporting the Arts at The Assembly House and for details of this year’s other exciting exhibitions, please see the Arts page.
