Children's Cookery Classes ••
10.30am to noon and 2pm to 3.30pm
Tickets £10 per session – call 01603 626402.
The perfect thing for the summer holidays – a children’s cookery school! Your little ones will love these classes, held by expert cook Sally Church, aimed at all those aged from five to 10. Sally is the Head of Technology at Flegg High School and has many years’ experience working with children – she also hosts the popular Kids’ Cookery Club at The Pigs pub in Edgefield.
During the cookery sessions, all the children will get the chance to have a go, with the ticket price including all the ingredients and tuition as well as recipe sheets and samples to take home.
The cookery lessons will follow the Art Show’s theme of “Flying Colours: Fascinating Forms”, with the morning sessions covering all sorts of different-shaped biscuits decorated with roll-out icing and piping plus all kinds of other decorations from butterflies to stars.
Then in the afternoon sessions the children can create their own cake pops - sponge cake and cream mixed into balls, dipped in chocolate or jam and rolled in hundreds and thousands to make bees, little insects or other fun creatures. The cake pops are placed on lollipop sticks and always go down well with the kids – they get the chance to be creative, to learn about food and enjoy themselves, and you get to try some fascinating snacks!
When booking, please let us have your child’s name and age, and information about any food allergies plus, of course, your contact details including your mobile phone number. We’ll provide aprons for all the children but if your child has long hair, please remember to tie it back.
