Cakes by Julia Hetherton

Julia Hetherton is the pastry chef responsible for producing the glorious display on the cake counter located in the Grand Hall. From the classic House cake; Gateau Assembly. Layer apoun layer of almond jaconde, chocolate ganache and coffee cream, to the delicate Parisian macaroons, the fudge and the flapjack, the cocoa dusted truffles and the carrot cake. All are produced by Julia. After attending The Hotel School in Norwich, where she won three student of the year trophies, Julia joined the Lavender House at Brundall where she developed her love of pastry and chocolate. Work experience stints followed at Raymond Blancs Le Manoir aux Quat Saisons, Claridges, and William Curley Chocolates. She was the winner of the 2005 EDP Young Chef of the Future, and makes some of the finest wedding cakes from three tiered chocolate extravaganzas, cup cake towers or classic sugar flower decorated fruit cakes.

You don’t have to get married to enjoys Julia cakes…she also makes Norwich’s best scones! Cakes available to eat in the beautiful House or you can take them away and enjoy at home, in the garden, for your office party or take a cup cake just to say thank you.

Ali Calver , who trained at Easton College, makes all the stunning arrangements that you see in the house, from magnificent displays in the Grand Hall, the posies on the piano and the lilies in the loos!  Over recent months she has provided brides bouquets, button holes, wreath, even decorated a fire engine! With numerous testimonials Ali is fast establishing herself at Norwich’s most popular and entertaining florist! She also offers a contract service delivering into Norwich city centre, and can offer regular contracts at other venues, offices and shops. Offering a bespoke service, Ali orders the flowers that you want, makes them to order and can offer competitive quotations.
