What’s the perfect recipe?  Take the most impressive room in the City, add some of the most talented Chefs in the county, cooking local seasonal ingredients, with a new menu designed by Norfolk celebrity chef Richard Hughes, mixed with a personal yet professional service… here you have The New Restaurant at The Assembly House.

The menu reflects the surroundings; a grand carte, offering something for everyone, at all times of the day. Kick off the day with one of our speciality coffee’s or Loose teas from Norwich institution Wilkinson’s, and a plump home made scone. Pop in later for lunch for stunning sandwiches made to order on Bloomer bread, seasonal salads, slow braises, and more substantial main courses.

From 2.00pm, The House’s signature service, indulgent afternoon tea delivered by Norwich’s well known patisserie chef, Julia Hetherton.  With the setting of the house and the atmosphere of the restaurant we feel this will become a ‘must do’ for those who appreciate the finer things in life! Finally, with us being next door to the theatre, we offer an excellent pre-theatre menu from 5pm-6.45pm.

In the 60s the queue for the restaurant at the Assembly House would stretch past the railings! We hope those days will return and will continue to improve the quality of food and provide a service which has old fashioned morals, but a casual feel to make you truly welcome.
