The menu on offer reflects the surroundings; an opulent list of dishes offering something for everyone at all times of the day. Start the day with one of our speciality coffees or loose-leaf teas and a delicious slice of home-made cake. Then pop in later for lunch, whether for the tasty sandwiches and toasts, a seasonal salad, hearty soup or a more substantial main course.

Then treat yourself to traditional afternoon tea, with the dainty sandwiches, delicious cakes and pastries and freshly-baked scones created by our expert patissier Julia Hetherton. Together with the wonderful setting of the House and the grand atmosphere of the restaurant, this really is a must for those who appreciate the finer things in life. And, as The Assembly House located next door to the Norwich Theatre Royal, the excellent pre-theatre menu, available from 5pm to 6.45pm, is also very popular.

In the 60s the queue for the restaurant at The Assembly House stretched past the railings! Now those days are starting to return, with our team’s reputation for fine food creating a steady following and today’s customers returning time and time again.
