Room 11 Floorplan

Let us introduce you to...Room 11! The quirky one which puts you in the heart of the city!

Made it, Ma, top of the House!

Room 11 is our most private suite, absolutely perfect for anyone looking to escape it all. Our hideaway in the eaves is one of our biggest suites and is right at the very top of the East Wing on the second floor.

It's reached by some fairly steep steps from one of the bedroom blocks and is out on its own with rooftop views across to our neighbour, St Peter Mancroft and The Forum. You feel as if you're in the trees from the private garret bedroom window, a world away from the hustle and bustle yet right in the heart of the city.

Room 11 has a wonderfully cosy vibe that makes you feel like you're a world away from everything going on outside your door - PLEASE watch your head if you're tall, when this was built in the 1700s, 'tall' meant something entirely different! That said, the main living spaces of bathroom, bedroom and lounge have plenty of head room.

With a separate lounge to relax in with a sofa bed for extra guests (ask us about adding people to your booking for £25 each, including breakfast) the suite has been designed by superstar interiors queen Annabel Grey, who trained at Manchester University and the Royal College of Art and has designed for, amongst many others, Voewood in Holt and the London Underground.

The bedroom has a generous 6ft brass bed and offers elevated views across Norwich. The marble bathroom boasts a wonderful drench shower.

Please note:
there is a low ceiling in the short corridor between the bedroom and living room in this suite. This suite does not have a bath. Due to a steep staircase and steps between rooms, this suite may not be suitable for young children or those with mobility issues or any form of visual impairment. There is no lift in the East Wing.

With the sofa bed in use, this room can sleep up to four people.

Breakfast is served in the main House which involves a one-minute walk outside from the wing which houses room 11 to the restaurant.

What you can look forward to in Room 11:

* Our quirkiest room with rooftop views

* A gorgeous separate lounge with velvet sofas

* Tucked away on the second floor with a private staircase

* The rainforest in Norwich: your own drench shower

* The most secluded and private of any of our rooms

We charge an extra £25 per person, per night, for more than two guests in a bedroom. This covers breakfast, the extra bedding and towels and so forth. Please contact 01603 626402 if you would like to add additional guests.

Check in is from 3pm on your day of arrival and check-out is at 11am on the day of your departure. If you require a late check-out, please contact a member of staff who will try to arrange this for you for a small supplement.

Once you have left your room, there is a one minute outdoor walk to the main House.
