Mrs Jessika and Sara Cross
Grand Hall, Music Room
Theme: Afternoon Tea
Mrs Jessika and Sara Cross, September 30th 2016
Rain was never going to stop play for these beautiful brides who celebrated their marriage with The Assembly House during a wonderfully relaxed, intimate day with lots of wonderful personal touches that truly made it a wedding to remember.
Although they had umbrellas at the ready, we managed to escort Jessika and Sara from our stunning Bridal Suite, where they had got dressed together in stunning white floor-length gowns, to the main House without the heavens opening.
The pair walked hand-in-hand down the aisle as Matt Carter played the House’s stunning Steinway piano and said their personally-written vows to each other during a beautiful ceremony that touched absolutely everyone in the room, especially the brides themselves.
With our lovely brides pronounced Mrs and Mrs, they walked back down the aisle and into the Grand Hall where The Assembly House team were waiting to give Jessika (the House’s restaurant supervisor!) a huge cheer of congratulations which made her cry all over again!
Then it was time for Champagne, canapés and photographs both inside the House and outside in our pretty courtyard and Noverre gardens while the Music Room was transformed into a pretty-in-pink dining room fit for a spectacular Afternoon Tea.
The brides had created their own bespoke tea with House special Gateaux Assembly – complete with their initials piped on top – a fruit tartlet, a raspberry macaron with salted caramel cream, passion fruit posset and lemon drizzle cake: with sandwiches and scones to enjoy too, it was no surprise that guests asked for little boxes to take what they couldn’t eat at the time back home!
Pastry chef Mark Mitson created a stunning three-tier wedding cake decorated with swathes of berries and fruits, roses and dahlias and perched on top of a personalised log slice with the couple’s names and wedding date engraved into a carved heart.
After tea, guests had a beautifully-relaxed time chatting and mingling before the wedding party drifted away to their bedrooms at the House before getting ready for a night on the town which is, of course, right on our doorstep in the heart of Norwich.
What a pleasure it was to host such a lovely day, Mrs and Mrs Cross. We hope you had a magical day and from now on hope that any rain that falls for you quickly turns into a rainbow – all our love from The Assembly House team XXX
