Anthony and John

Rooms: Grand Hall, Music Room
Theme: Ceremony and Reception

Anthony and John are well known regulars and friends of everyone at The Assembly House which made their day so special to everyone who played a part in it.

The House Suite was theirs for the Friday and Saturday nights so that they could relax, enjoy a glass of wine and get ready in peace before coming through to the House for their ceremony in the Pierce room.

Their nearest and dearest were there to watch Ant and John walk down the aisle together in their elegant black and white suits and say ‘I Do’ before coming out onto the balcony to greet their guests waiting in the Grand Hall as a married couple.

There was lots of love in the room between family and friends and the guests couldn’t wait to congratulate Ant and John on their beautiful ceremony.

Champagne was poured, and guests were chatted and laughed as they enjoyed canapés including our mini Colman’s Mustard cheese scones with bacon chutney, prawn cocktail tartlets and the AH smoked dapple Rarebit on toast which all went down a treat.

Once everyone had had a chance to catch up and share their love with Ant and John, it was time for a few photographs in the Music Room.

Photographer Tim Stephenson captured some wonderful shots of Ant and John on the balcony through the chandeliers before evening guests arrived and the celebrations continued.

The illuminated dance floor, LOVE letters and black and white cake made by pastry chef Mark Mitson dressed the Music Room perfectly and allowed guests to celebrate in style.

The dancefloor was filled all evening and our very own Jamie Gooda even joined in for a slow dance at the end of the night. When they needed a break from all the dancing, guests were able to move through to the Grand Hall to enjoy our Great British cheeseboard, hog roast, chocolate fountain and have fun with the selfie mirror which provided ample entertainment for everybody.

Guests didn’t stop laughing, dancing and celebrating all evening and it was clear that everyone was there to help Ant and John have a magical day they will remember forever.

The night drew to a close and there was nothing but happiness and love in the room as guests began to say their goodbyes and congratulations to the happy couple.

Ant and John were able to reminisce over their day the next morning at breakfast with friends and family that stayed at the House. Despite a couple of sore heads, the same buzz filled the room and it was obvious that it couldn’t have been a better day.

Everybody at The Assembly House wishes Ant and John the very best with their married life and are so pleased to have been able to play a part in their celebrations.

Best bits:

Jamie:

It has to be having a Victoria Beckham hit as the processional song; a first for The Assembly House!

Lydia:

How everybody came together to celebrate Ant and Jon’s marriage and the relaxed atmosphere that allowed them to enjoy their day so much. You know it’s a good wedding when the staff enjoy the day as much as the guests!
