Room 14 Floorplan

Let us introduce you to...Room 14! The cool, calm and collected powder blue and lilac room!

One of our newest rooms on the West Wing of The Assembly House, this first-floor stunner is decorated in English Heritage-approved Georgian colours and filled with quirky touches such as Venetian glass, Staffordshire 'Wally Dugs' china dogs, original artwork and a stunning velvet chair.

Boasting triple aspect views that allow you look out over the Noverre Garden, The Assembly House courtyard and fountain and the rooftops of Norwich city centre, it's a showstopper.

Filled with light, it is a perfectly-proportioned base for your Norfolk adventures with its stunning tiled fireplace, quirky antiques and antique furniture, a glittering chandelier and plenty of cosy nooks to curl up in with a book.

An airy, cosy living space with a four-poster bed at its heart, the en-suite bathroom has a large drench shower in a beautifully quirky bathroom filled with character.

The design is by superstar interiors queen Annabel Grey, who trained at Manchester University and the Royal College of Art and who has designed for, amongst many others, Voewood in Holt and London Underground.

Annabel has designed all our bedrooms and function rooms such as the Hobart and the Ivory Rooms and each one is spectacular in its own way.

Our Georgian House would have been decorated in colours this vibrant in its heyday: the Georgians weren't fans of griege, cream or neutrals but they loved a pastel shade!

What you can look forward to in Room 14:

• Triple aspect room – (that’s windows on three sides to you and me) for perfect people-watching potential

• Quite the loveliest of original fireplaces: gorgeous brass, cast iron and blue porcelain tiles

* Quirky touches such as a piece of French wall art, Venetian glass, shell mirror, original artwork

* A gorgeous blue velvet chair to lounge in and your own antique writing desk

• You can see Norwich Castle from here - make sure you wave at the visitors on the battlements!

• Drench shower - THE RAINFOREST HERE IN NORWICH!

• Quite the loveliest of fireplaces

• Dogs! (China ones)

TV presenter Grace Dent stayed in Room 12 (and 14!) and said: "A truly wonderful stay. Beautiful rooms, warm service, fab afternoon tea XXX PS Keep on being world class." She also called The Assembly House, in a review in The Guardian,"...one of the UK's loveliest boutique hotels". Thank you, Grace!

Please note:
The West Wing is a short walk of 30 seconds from reception across the courtyard and to the lobby area. There is one flight of stairs to reach Room 14...but it's worth it! There is no lift in the West Wing.
