Tucked away on the first floor of our historic East Wing, this Grand Room unfolds in delightful stages. From the landing, where sweeties sometimes appear as if by magic, you step into a mellow lilac and sage bedroom layered with antiques, original artwork and period furniture.

Then comes the twist. A private corridor all of your own. On one side, a marble bathroom with dual ended roll top bath and drench shower. On the other, your very own balcony overlooking Norwich city centre.

There's the chance to add a z-bed so that you can have up to three in this room (supplement applies).

It is no wonder this room has become a guest favourite. It feels like an adventure in miniature.

Good to know before you arrive

• First floor location. There is a flight of stairs to reach Room Eight and no lift in the East Wing
• After checking in at reception, there is a short one minute walk outside to reach this accommodation area. If you arrive before 5pm, a team member will show you to your room
• Check in from 3pm. Arriving after 5pm? Let us know and we will explain our simple lock box system
• Check out at 11am. Late check out may be available for a small supplement
• Additional guests are charged at £50 per adult and £25 per child per night, including breakfast and extras like bedding and towels
• The Assembly House closes at 5pm unless open for an evening event. There is no communal bar or lounge for overnight guests
• Our restaurant is not open in the evenings other than for functions
• Parking is not included. Please see our Accessibility page for parking and public transport information. If you are able to find a space in the car park to the rear of The Assembly House, we can offer a £10 overnight ticket to cover your stay, please speak to the reception team when you book in before 5pm
