Room Nine is a perfectly formed bolthole with a little theatrical flair.

Set on the first floor of our historic East Wing, this elegant double room pairs a plush super king 6ft 6in bed with its own petite private balcony and a rather wonderful bird’s eye view across Norwich. Look one way and you have city rooftops, look the other and you can sneak a glance down into our restaurant below.

The bed is dressed with a handcrafted Vispring mattress and exceptional bedding so comfortable that one well-known celebrity guest insisted on buying the exact same set for home (plus the same mattress!).

Relax and retreat to the marble bathroom and sink into the deep bath before drifting back to that cloud like bed.

Good to know before you arrive

• First floor location. There is a flight of stairs to reach Room Nine and no lift in the East Wing
• After checking in at reception, there is a short one minute walk outside to reach this accommodation area. If you arrive before 5pm, a team member will show you to your room
• Check in from 3pm. Arriving after 5pm? Let us know and we will explain our simple lock box system
• Check out at 11am. Late check out may be available for a small supplement
• Additional guests are charged at £50 per adult and £25 per child per night, including breakfast and extras like bedding and towels
• The Assembly House closes at 5pm unless open for an evening event. There is no communal bar or lounge for overnight guests
• Our restaurant is not open in the evenings other than for functions
• Parking is not included. Please see our Accessibility page for parking and public transport information. If you are able to find a space in the car park to the rear of The Assembly House, we can offer a £10 overnight ticket to cover your stay, please speak to the reception team when you book in before 5pm
