Room 11 is our hideaway in the eaves. Perched at the very top of the East Wing on the second floor, it feels like your own private Norwich attic apartment, with rooftop views towards St Peter Mancroft and The Forum and treetop glimpses from the garret window.

One of our largest suites and certainly our most private, Room 11 has a wonderfully cocooning atmosphere. Designed by acclaimed interior designer Annabel Grey, the space blends character and comfort with a generous 6ft 6in superking brass bed, a separate lounge and elevated views across the city.

It feels a world away from the bustle below, yet you are right in the heart of Norwich.

Important access information

Room 11 is full of charm and historic character, and that comes with some important restrictions.

• Third floor location in the East Wing with two flights of fairly steep stairs and no lift
• Steps between some rooms within the suite
• Low ceiling in the short corridor between the bedroom and living room
• Some areas have lower than modern ceiling heights. Taller guests must take care
• Not suitable for young children
• Not suitable for guests with mobility issues or visual impairments
• This suite does not have a bath, it features a spacious drench shower only
• Please ask if you would like assistance with luggage before 5pm

Breakfast is served in the main House and involves a short one minute walk outside from the East Wing to the restaurant.

Good to know before you arrive

• Third floor location in the East Wing. There are two flights of stairs to reach Room 11 and no lift
• After checking in at reception, there is a short one minute walk outside to reach this accommodation area. If you arrive before 5pm, a team member will show you to your suite
• Check in from 3pm. Arriving after 5pm? Let us know and we will explain our simple lock box system
• Check out at 11am. Late check out may be available for a small supplement
• Additional guests are charged at £50 per adult and £25 per child per night, including breakfast and extras like bedding and towels
• The Assembly House closes at 5pm unless open for an evening event. There is no communal bar or lounge for overnight guests
• Our restaurant is not open in the evenings other than for functions
• Parking is not included. Please see our Accessibility page for parking and public transport information. If you are able to find a space in the car park to the rear of The Assembly House, we can offer a £10 overnight ticket to cover your stay, please speak to the reception team when you book in before 5pm
